Yes Joe, brilliant...the other threads are enlightening too. Will be looking in the mirror....
Like I said in a previous post Brian, everyone is looking for some type of quick fix "system". To be an effective ATC you need to be a generalist- and that is not cool anymore. "Level 1 vein practitioner" hehehehe.
Or just put needles in it...!
That seems to be the hot thing over here at the moment. Perhaps but being general, in my opinion, is about being simple. This seems to be lost by some of us in the PT/ATC/S&C crowds though smart folks like Gambetta and Giles would tell us simple approaches is the place to be. I also find it interesting that there seems to be a movement going on that "S&C" is not the correct terminology/practice and that Athletic Development is a more encompassing term. I agree as it could also address in some ways the side discussion in the links about mesodermal or ectodermal approaches. It's all about WHY you do something and the literature to demonstrate your WHY...
Personally, I don't try for quick fixes but by God I will always try to know WHY. Also, I've been practicing as a PT/ATC now for over 10 years. I don't approach things anywhere like I used too. I imagine in 10 years time I can say the same thing...I feel I'm better and I would like to think I will improve in 10 more years....By then we might find out that "leaving it alone" is just as good as any treatment under the sun...
Needles= cortisone? hyaluronic acid?
Just keeping the sarcasm going from Tony Silvernail...needles as in acupuncture. Like Tony says in his threads needles deem to be the fix all...
What kind of results are you seeing from the acupuncture?
