Joe's Training Room, 2 years out

...and I'm still struggling with the same issues from last year.  Mainly trying to get more high school A.T's involved here.  The blog is not growing, still staying steady at about 65 hits a day.  Hey, I know part of it is my own fault, like not having a Youtube channel.  I was even considering dropping the blog and moving over to the NATA Think Tanks.  However, I followed it for a while and found the participation was even worse.  It has not been a good year for me; an '11 NATA presentation on function is not going to happen.  I don't really understand whats not to like about the approach- it's inexpensive, it adapts and changes to the latest research, and it works.  In addition, after hundreds of hours of work on the ankle book, it is probably not going to happen.

But hey, for those willing to listen there's still plenty of stuff to get to here.  Loads of great ideas and research to digest and apply.  Hope you enjoyed the last year, and as Jay-Z says, on to the next one!

Joe, You gotta keep it going-You are a part of my morning wakeup routine. As you know, change is difficult to bring about.
On another note, I have noticed a big improvement in my functional balance-I have been working out in the gym and my strength has improved and I am guessing this has improved my balance.
As for the team we have been working with the distance runners on reducing ground contact time-especially when fatigued. Any thoughts? Jack Martin

Joe, I know that your feelings toward the success of your blog will be hard to change just by hearing words of encouragement from your regular followers, but with that being said, your posts have changed the way I approach my future in this profession. I am a better practitioner because of what you have shared here and in person with me. I preach the good word of Joe "the trainer" from EHS to anyone who will listen and steer them here to learn. You can only teach the ones who are willing to learn. So thank you and hope to see you Monday..

Great comment Jonathan: You can only teach the ones who are willing to learn.

Count me as one of those! I make your blog mandatory reading for my athletic training students, and have really great discussions about the topics you post.

Hey Joe,

I for one, really enjoy reading your blog. You always make me think. In fact, your discussions of Gary Gray's teachings have influenced me more than Gray himself. As for the NATA thing, go figure. I personally would really enjoy seeing you give a presentation on function!! Maybe we could submit something together in the future!

We've talked a lot about the ups and downs, but you seriously are doing a great job here, and with everything you do...The kids at St. Elizabeth are lucy to have someone with your great skills and knowledge in their corner.

I continue to pass your website info out to everyone I come across and try to preach to them about doing things the "right way" and using you as a blueprint.

I've learned a ton from you in the time that I've known you and truly feel lucky to consider you a friend.

I'm sorry about the ankle book, I was REALLY looking forward to it, I really couldn't wait to get it in my hands and start using some of the ideas you worked so hard to put down for all of us. It really is a shame.

I know things are about to fire up for you, but we should talk in the next couple weeks and figure a way out to get some things moving in the AT setting with function. I know people are hungry for it we just have to find the right way to package it and get it out there...

Keep your head up buddy and keep up the GREAT JOB. Like many others have said, your blog is one of the few pages I look forward to checking on a daily basis...

Good luck as fall practices get going...Let's talk soon...
