This is more like it

It's fresh in my mind because Kelvin Giles spoke at GAIN 09. OK, I know Gray Cook's FMS is the most popular one. It just isn't my favorite:

Joe- What products would you recommend buying from that site?

Thanks,
Brandon

I can only speak of what I know of and have used Brandon- that is, the physical competance testing stuff. It's kind of expensive once you start buying all the gadgets, but comparible with other systems. I would start with the manuel, and that goniometer type device.

They also sell progressive exercise software. Takes a simple exercise, lets say a pushup, then takes you each step of the way to make it more sports specific, and teaching points. The only problem is it's 600 U.S. bucks, plus a yearly liscense fee, plus it leaves a whopping 6 gig footprint on your hard drive! I've already spoken to Kelvin about making it web based, which would make it a lot cheaper for him & the user.

Thanks Joe! I will definetly check out what you recommended. As for spending money I dont mind spending money if it is a worthy investment. I do agree that I think Kelvin should try and make it web based. Thanks again for your recommendations an am also looking forward to hearing more about your experience at GAIN 09. I will definetly be attending next year.

Thanks,
Brandon

Good morning Joe. I have been lurking here since you started this blog and love it. I am not an ATC...just a middle school PE taecher and coach, but get a lot out of it. Just curious, have you seen his Athlete Development Book? And if so, do you recommend it?

I am not familiar with the athlete development book Jon. But I can tell you Kelvin knows his stuff. Thanks for reminding me about the P.E. side of things. This will be my first post back.
